India win the Semifinal against Pakistan

India v Pakistan 2nd semi-final World Cup 2011
MOHALI: Pakistan lost the World Cup semi final by 29 runs against India on 30 march 2011.
Chasing a Fighting total of 261 runs, Pakistan were dismissed for 231 with a ball to spare after all of India's five bowlers took two wickets apiece.
Misbah-ul-Haq, who top scored for Pakistan with 56, helped take them from 208 for nine to a situation where an unlikely 30 was needed off the last over.
India's 260 for nine after winning the toss against their arch-rivals was built around Sachin Tendulkar's 85.But they might have made considerably less had not the star batsman been dropped four times in an innings that still left him one short of a hundred international hundreds.
Left arm fast bowler Wahab Riaz led Pakistan's attack with career best figures of 5/46.
For Pakistan, openers Kamran Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez provided a good start of 44 runs before Kamran was caught by Yuvraj Singh at point off Zaheer Khan for 19.
Mohammad Hafeez made 43 before he was caught behind after trying to sweep seamer Munaf Patel.The left arm spinner youvraj bowled Asad Shafiq (30) as the batsman made room to cut and then had the experienced Younus Khan (13) caught at cover by Suresh Raina.
Umar Akmal, however, counter-attacked in trademark style, pulling and driving Yuvraj for the first two sixes of the match.Pakistan required 84 off the last 10 overs and needed a big innings from big-hitting skipper Shahid Afridi who only managed 19 before he sliced Harbhajan to Virender Sehwag at cover-point and at 184 for seven the game was almost up for Pakistan.
Earlier, the 25-year-old Wahab Riaz kept his side in the match.

India will meet Pakistan in the semi finals

WorldCup2011: India recorded a sensational five wicket victory to oust defending champions Australia in the 2nd quarter finals of the World Cup 2011 at the Sardar Patel Stadium Ahmedabad.
Now India will meet Pakistan in the semi finals to be played on March 30 at Mohali.
Batting first after captain Ponting won the toss, defending champions Australia made 260 for six in their 50 overs.
Ricky Ponting made 104 from 118 balls with seven fours and a six, his 30th ODI hundred and the fifth in World Cups.
Chasing a modest total of 261, India completed the victory in 47.4 overs to shatter Australia's dream of an unprecedented fourth straight World Cup title and fifth in all was shattered.
Yuvraj Singh ( 57* ), who struck the winning boundary, was the man of the match yet again as he top scored with taking 2 wickets.
Sachin Tendulkar ( 53 his 94th ODI fifty ) and Gautam Gambhir also hit fifties for India.
Sachin Tendulkar completed 18,000 runs in one-day international cricket became the first batsman to score 18,000 one day international runs.

Green shirts Diverted to the black wind direction in Quarter Final .

Mirpur ( Dhaka ): Pakistan dismissed West Indies for 112 runs in the first quarter finals of the ICC World Cup 2011 at Mirpur on 23 March ( Youm-e-Pakistan ).
West Indies could not resist against the Pakistan spin attack, led by Shahid Afridi, and were all out in 43.3 overs, giving Pakistan an easy target of 113.
Leg spinner Shahid Afridi, already the tournament's leading wicket taker, took his tally to 21 as he finished with four for 30, including two wickets off successive balls.
Off-spinners Mohammad Hafeez and Saeed Ajmal claimed two wickets each for 16 and 18, respectively, while pacers Umar Gul and Abdul Razzaq took a wicket each.
Kamran Akmal ( 47* ) and Muhammad Hafeez ( 61* ) put together an unbeaten 113 run stand for victory.

Australia eventually failed by Pakistan in World Cup history

COLOMBO: Asad Shafiq's 46 runs and Man of the match Umar Akmal's unbeaten 44runs helped Pakistan end Australia's 34th match unbeaten World Cup streak, with a victory in Colombo that takes them top of Group A.
Pakistan stopped Australia’s unbeaten 34 match run in the World Cup history on 19 March 2011.
Chasing an easy target of 177 runs, Pakistan completed victory with 9 overs to spare but they lost six wickets in the process.
Umar Gul took three for 30 to help Pakistan dismiss Australia for 176 -- their lowest World Cup total since 1992 -- before Umar Akmal hit an unbeaten 44 to steer Pakistan to victory in 41 overs, finishing top of the pool with 10 points.
This was Australia's first defeat in the World Cup since losing to Pakistan by 10 runs in Leeds in 1999 Worldcup, that time Wasim Akram was Skipper.
Abdul Razzaq hit two boundaries off spinner Jason Krejza to complete the victory.
Asad Shafiq, who hit five boundaries during his 81-ball knock, added 53 with Younis and 41 with Umar to keep Pakistan on track.
From Australian side Haddin make 42 runs, Michael Clarke 34 runs and Steve Smith 25 runs offered some resistance as Pakistan applied relentless pressure to take the last seven Australian wickets for a mere 59 runs after they were 117-3.
Brett Lee (4-28), fought hard and twice raised hopes of an unlikely win.

Pakistan bowled Canada out for 138 runs

World Cup 2011 Pak vs Canada
COLOMBO: Pakistan, one of the tournament favourites, slumped to a well below 184 runs off 43 overs against the unfancied Canada in their World Cup Group A match on 03 March 2011.
Winning the toss and taking first use of the pitch, Pakistan could not get their batting rhythm going and lost wickets at regular intervals.
They slumped to 67-4 before Misbah-ul-Haq (37runs) and top scorer Umar Akmal (48runs) posted the best partnership of the innings with 73 for the 5th wicket.
Despite the under par showing, Pakistan bowled Canada out for 138 runs, winning the Group A clash by 46 runs on Thursday to record their third win out of three at the World Cup 2011.
