CENTURION: Shane watson and cameron white were the batting heroes as title holders Australia coasted to a six wicket victory over New zealand Monday in the ICC Champion trophy.


New zealand mad 200/9 in 50 overs and Australia over came two early blips to 206-4 in 45.2 overs and confirm conform their domiance of the 50-over format with back to back title.

The fair hared pair came together with the defending champions reeling at 6-2 after the loss of skipper rick ponting for one on the pitch where he hit an unbeaten 100 against England in samifinal.

watson and white graduly shed the clock of caution, starting going after the bowlers and a couple of sixes steered Australia to 86-2 midwaythrough the inning.

The third wickt pair put on 128 and took the game away from the kiwis before being befor seprated as White got an inside edge to mills and struck his off stump.

New Zealand stormed into the Champions Trophy final

JOHANNESBURG: Grant elliat braved a thumb injury with an impressive half century as New zealand stormed into the champion trophy final with a five wicket victory over Pakistan.

Elliat cracked unbeaten 75 to help his injury hit team achieve a 234 runs target with 13 balls to spare.

New zealand will now clash with defending champions Australia in the Final on Monday.

New zealand who have lost five of their six semifinals against Pakistan in Oneday inernationals, improved that record with superb all round perfomans in the day-night match.

Ian buttler grabbed a carier best 4-44 and spinor vetori finished with 3-43 to restrict Pakistan before Elliot completed the victory with a brave 103 balls knock, including 1 six and 5 fours.

From Pakistan side umar akmal (55runs) anf Muhammad Yousf (45 runs) only played well,
and in last wicket Muhammad Aamir (19 not out) , Saeed Ajmal (14 not out) also played well as a bowler.

vettori (41 runs and in bowling 3-43 ) was named man of the match for his allround perfomanse.

New zealand were the winners in 2000 in Nairobi .

Australia crushed England by 9 wickets to reach the Final .

CENTURION: Ricky Ponting (111 runs with 12 fours and 1 six) and man of the match shane watson (136 with 10 fours and 7 sixes )struck undefeated centuries Friday as title holders Australia crushed England by 9 wickets to reach the champion trophy's Final .

For Ponting there was also the personal satsfication of becoming only the third batsman after sachen tendulker of India and jaysuriya of sri lanka to pass the 12,000 ODI run mark .

England recover from a disastrous start to reach 257 in 47.4 overs thanks largely to 80 runs from unlikely hero Tim bresnan .

It was a superb show by Australia, who topped a group including Pakistan, India and west indies while rarely moving into over drive in the two week mini world cup .

Pakistan played best match of the tournament but Australia win !

CENTURION: Australia qualified for the champions trophy semi final with a thrilling two wicket win over Pakistan Wednesday at supersport park .

The defending champions Australia , having won the toss and restricted Pakistan to 205/6 of 50 overs , appear to be coasting home with 140 runs on the board , seven wickets in hand and almost 19 overs left .

but as the Pakistani bowlers came alive , wickets tumbled and Australia entered the final over needing five runs to win a match transformed into a thriller after being tedious to watch for so long .

Tail-enders brett lee and nuthan hurtiz picked off singles against super bowling by Umar gull and some inspired fielding to reach 206/8 in the best match so far after tournament.

Man of the match michel hussy top scorred with 64 and shan watson and mithel johnson took towo wickets each for the australians , who faced england Friday in the first semifinal.

Pakistan were never comfortable seam friendly wicket and opners Kamran Akmal and Shahid Afridi complied only 30 when the partenship was terminated on an overcast day.

Pakistan win the match against India by 54 runs !

CENTURION: shoib malik smashed a brisk 128 runs to setup Pakistan's 54 run victory over archival India in the ICC champion trophy 2009.

the middle order batsman hit 128 for his seventh hundred in one-dayers as Pakistan posted a challenging 302/9 before restricting India to 248 in a pressure match to boost their hops of qualifying for the semifinals.

Rahul Dravid top scored with a with a fighting 76, but India's chances were severly affected after the departures of big hitter gothem ghambir (57) and suresh raina (46) .

The top two sides advance to the semifinals.

Pakistan were indebted to Malik and Muhammad Yousf (87) for setting a stiff target in the day night match as the pair put on 206 in 31.2 overs their record stand for the fourth wicket against India in one dayers.

Shoib Malik was named Man of the Match !

Gambir exploded with a flurry of boundries to keep the pressure on the Pakistani bowlers and fielders, hitting two sixes and seven fours in his quick fire 46 ball knock.
just when he looked like playing a big knock, he was runout following a mix-up with dravid.
Youns sparked celebration when he hit the stumps at non stricker end from mid off.

Pakistani fans raced onto the ground when Saeed Ajmal bowled Harbhajan singh to complete the victory.

Indian bowler Nehra was the most succesfull bowler with 4-55 but recieved little support from the other end.
